COLLEGE RECRUITING INFORMATION
The college recruiting process can be a very rewarding experience if in the end a student-athlete is one of the fortunate few who end up receiving a partial or full scholarship. However, the process can also be a very frustrating experience that in the end may leave one with a great sense of disappointment. One of the things our Athletic Ministry, coaches, and parents can do is carefully explain the recruiting process and set realistic expectations in regards to what transpires during the process. The following information will hopefully serve to make the recruiting process less stressful and perhaps operate to keep everything in proper perspective. Please take the time viewing the, “College Recruiting Parent and Coaches Packet.” Below are some of the specific areas the college recruiting packet will address. After reviewing the notes, please take some additional extra time to review the college recruiting packet. There are sample forms for athletes or parents on writing recruiting letters to colleges, statistics on the number of NCAA college scholarships given, a Q/A section on the recruiting process, a recruiting checklist, Eligibility Center information, a High School athletic planning timeline, and many more helpful tips on preparing a student-athlete for college.
