Hello Parents and Students~

Saturday, March 1 is our Festival Concert, featuring all of the concert and jazz bands 5th-12th grade.  The performance will be at 4:00 PM outside on our brand new deck!  The students need to be in the band room, in uniform, at 3:30 PM.  The students need their concert band and jazz band instruments for Friday’s class.
Tuesday, April 8, 2008 is our ACSI Band Festival.  I have attached the permission slip to this letter.  Please fill it out and have them return it by March 4.  I am in need of drivers to bring the students to the performance and back to school after we are finished.  Please let me know if you are able to do this and how many students you can fit in your car.  You must be cleared by the school to drive for field trips in order to help out.  Please check with the office to find out if you are missing any information.
The first payment for the Forum Music Festival (Universal Studios) is due on March 4.  It is imperative that I know how many people are attending so I can give the company accurate numbers.  I will be leaving March 8 for Germany and need to turn in the payment before I leave.

CMCS Elementary Band 2007-2008

When and Where are practices?
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (except for Minimum Days)
5th Grade 3:10-3:45pm
6th Grade 7:40-8:10am
Room 230 (Elementary Campus)

What are sectionals?
Sectionals are group lessons. Each student meets with the director and the other students in their grade who play the same instrument once a week.
This allows for individualized instruction, and is a great value!
(If you were to take lessons outside the school, it could cost anywhere from $15-$50 per lesson!)
5th Grade: Once a week after lunch (12:40pm)
6th Grade: Once a week 2:45-3:10pm

How Much Will this Cost?
There is a monthly band fee of $40, which helps pay for books, music, entrance fees, and other music expenses. (Think of it as really cheap group lessons!)

Are there very many performances?
The Band plays at 3 concerts throughout the year,
plus a Concert Band Festival, Fine Arts Day in May, and a performance at Knott’s Berry Farm!

When can I sign up?
We will have an informational meeting at the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year
